Pacquiao Vs Clottey Round By Round
Nearly 51,000 spectators packed Cowboys Stadium to watch boxer Manny Pacquiao pummel Joshua Clottey Saturday night in Dallas, Texas.
Pacquiao repeatedly pounded on Clottey, landing 246 of 1,231 punches, or 20 percent of the time, while Clottey only connected on 108 of 399 (27 percent), according to CompuBox.
Pacquiao, who shook up Clottey on more than one occasion throughout the fight with punishing body blows, cruised on his way to retaining his World Boxing Organization title. It was never much of a contest as two of the three ringside judges awarded only one round to Clottey (35-4-0) to Pacquiao’s 11.
The Associated Press is reporting that the Pacquiao-Clottey bout drew the largest boxing audience in the U.S. in 17 years.
Despite easily beating a passive Clottey, the question still remains: Will Pacquiao (51-3-2) eventually get in the ring with undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather? I know I’d love to see it, but the decision is up to Pacquiao at this point.
